Meet the Trainers

Joyce DanielJoyce Daniel - Trainer

I love a vigorous workout; it makes me feel exhilarated!

"You Gotta Love It" is my slogan to encourage and challenge myself and others. You must maximize the moment while in my training sessions in order to see results. There must be an inner drive — a passion to making fitness a lifestyle. I’m a firm believer that your body is not made in the gym — it is made in the kitchen; proper nutrition is the key ingredient.

More about Joyce:  Enjoy Results

Remember:

The race is not given to the swift but to him who endures to the end. In other words, quick weight loss is not the answer. Ask God for wisdom to start your fitness journey and in the end you will be able to say: I fought the good fight. I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful....now I can obtain my reward — A Healthy Lifestyle!

Danny Bastacy - Yoga

After studying yoga with the same teacher Swami Mataji at LA Fitness for six years, my teacher informed me that she was going to India for two months and she wanted me to teach some of her classes while she was away. She had L.A. Fitness hire me as a yoga teacher in January of 2007 and the following month I began the six month yoga teacher training at the Kashi Ashram in Candler Park.

Upon completing the yoga teacher training, I began getting my own classes to teach at several locations around North Atlanta. The style of yoga that I teach is called Hatha yoga and is inspired by Swami Mataji plus what I have learned as part of my yoga teacher training.

Daniel Bastacky presents
Crystal Singing Bowl Meditation & Sound Massage Treatments

Receive a sound massage as crystal bowls are placed on your body and played. The deep resonance of the bowl sound relaxes tense muscles and has a calming effect on the mind. Bowls can be placed and played on seven different areas of the body to bring energy and vibration to where it is needed.

Our whole body is a sounding board that can be tuned to the music of the Cosmos. When Alpha sound waves of the crystal bowls interact with our body, sympathetic vibrations occur that entrain our brain waves into a state of deep relaxation and expanded consciousness. These vibrations resonate on the deepest level of our being tuning the entire body into a state of balance.

Tammy McGee

Embody a productive, yet authentic Yogic Lifestyle and serve others in a positive/meaningful way.

Fitness Philosophy:
“My Yogic Journey began in 1996, thanks to a recommendation of a dear friend. Initially I explored yoga as a means of physical fitness for physical perfection. However, I soon began to realize yoga's restorative and introspective nature. Through my yogic practice, I have grown personally and spiritually. For me, yoga is more than a physical exercise or profession; it's a way of life. Teaching yoga offers me joy and a creative outlet of artistic expression. Helping others through the art of yoga is a rewarding experience, a feeling of being connected to something greater. To witness the positive affects of yoga is an awesome gift.

I extend much gratitude and respect for my teachers, namely Graham Fowler & Ursula Nix of Peachtree Yoga and Swami Sadasivananda & Sita Chaitanya of Sivananda Yoga. My other influences include Rodney Yee, Shiva Rea and Steve Ross. My personal yogic education is a work in progress. To keep my teachings fresh and innovative, I regularly attend various Yogic workshops and programs. The range of my teaching style includes Sivananda Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Power Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Partner Yoga, Prana Yoga, Yoga Dance, Pranayama & Meditation.”

Bridgette McIver

Bridgette McIver is a certified group exercise instructor by AFAA.

She currently works at LA Fitness teaching cycle, club boxing, and body works.

After my babies, exercise is my number ONE priority.  That is what I stress to all of my students.  Having gained 60 pounds with both of my pregnancies I really know what it feels like to not be healthy, and I also really know what it is like to lose weight and get back in shape!

I love helping people reach their fitness goals.  It is all about getting out of your "comfort zone"  every time you work out.  That is the only way to get stronger, faster, and to become the healthiest you can be!

There is no magic pill to losing weight, but it is attainable for everyone.  You are in control of your body.  There are four keys

  1. Cardio!!
  2. Weight Training
  3. Healthy Diet
  4. Most importantly - start loving yourself right now
Be grateful for your body and your ability to exercise!

Lisa Fertow

Lisa’s motto in fitness is “No Excuses!”

It is so easy to blame anything and everything beside ourselves for the lack of motivation or for quitting when things get tough.  It’s those of us who decide not to let ANYTHING get in our way who will ultimately find our own greatness.

Fitness equals happiness and as Lisa always says –
you gotta want it to get it!

Lisa began her fitness career not as an instructor or a trainer but as an athlete.  She played collegiate water polo at the University of California, Davis from 1997 – 2001.  After college Lisa obtained her secondary teaching credential in Social Science from California State University, Sacramento.

As a middle school and high school history teacher Lisa didn’t stay far from athletics, she became an assistant swim coach and developed/coached the water polo program at Monterey Trail High School (Elk Grove, CA).

All the while, Lisa obtained her primary group exercise certificate from 24 Hour Fitness and began teaching 24 S.E.T (strength endurance training), 24 Lift, Core Central, and Amp’d Abs.  During her time with 24 Hour Fitness, Lisa completed countless trainings and continuing education courses to stay at the cutting edge of current fitness techniques.

Lisa, her husband Jason and their son Jackson moved to Georgia in July of 2008.  After moving to Georgia, Lisa was hired at LA Fitness, Snellville and has since expanded her teaching to include cycle as well as step circuit, step and lift, bodyworks, and bootcamp.  She now teaches at three LA Fitness locations – Toco Hills, Northlake and Snellville.

Lisa recently obtained her Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) primary group exercise certification, and she continues to hold valid CPR and First Aid certifications.
